Driven a lot of Euro VI stuff, but this TGS EfficientLine stands out for sipping fuel. That system that looks ahead and figures out the optimal spots to accelerate and coast is clever, you can tell MAN really tried with that side of things. Can’t say I’m a fan of the cab height though, it’s a slog climbing up. Driving position is decent, and the steering wheel’s adjustable enough for my arms to not cramp up on long hauls. Bed’s alright for a nap if you get stuck on a layover, nothing special. The controls are clear but some of the smaller buttons are fiddly with gloves on. Suspension is what I’d call middle of the road: not too harsh but you’ll notice big potholes. Safety kit is stacked, I trust the brakes, and stability stuff actually works when you take a corner a bit hot.

The fuel efficiency of the MAN TGS stands out. The predictive cruise control system optimizes the performance on highway drives. The suspension system aids a smooth drive even with heavy loads. However, during lower temperatures, some minor issues in engine warming up did occur. Maintenance-wise, I've found it manageable with its extended warranty coverage.

I've done quite a bit of work with the MAN TGS, mainly in construction and short haul stuff. The cab's not as wide as the TGX, but it works fine, especially for city and regional runs. It's got enough storage if you organize yourself, and the controls are simple to get used to. The gearbox (TraXon now) shifts smooth almost all the time, although I've had the system freeze up once in heavy stop-start urban traffic. It sorted itself but still, bit annoying. Reliability has been generally good since the Euro-6 upgrade, but a couple guys I know had issues with Euro-5 years. Haven't had major comfort issues. Not the cheapest on the market for parts but not the most expensive either.

The TGS 26.440 dump truck fully satisfies me in terms of technical specifications. However, I have major complaints about the quality of service at official service centers. Recently, so-called experts burnt out the climate control unit, but they didn't admit their mistake. I had to fix the malfunction at a high cost.

We bought the MAN TGS 40.390 dump truck for our concrete production company. The machine is used almost every day. The transmission is manual. It works properly, but if we have to sit in a traffic jam, we constantly need to shift the lever. It's inconvenient, although otherwise the machine is almost perfect.

I work as a driver of the MAN TGS 33.440 dump truck. The mileage of the machine has already exceeded 500,000, so I can draw some conclusions. The most important thing is that the engine works properly, and the traction is normal. The dump truck carries loads weighing 35 tons without any problems. The fuel consumption at this load is 52 liters per 100 kilometers.

So I had the chance to drive the MAN TGS recently. Let me say, the ergonomically designed driver's cabin does make long hours far less tiring. The controls are where you'd want them and it feels intuitive. Fuel efficiency? Tachograph readings show improvements, which helps manage costs. Reliability-wise, it's never let me down so far.

The MAN TGS 33.480 dump truck is used as a timber lorry. Its 480 horsepower is more than enough for full-fledged work. The transmission is manual, but it operates flawlessly. There was never even a thought of purchasing a dump truck with an automatic transmission. The driver's seat is comfortable, while the passenger seat is average.

I exchanged my MAN TGA 41.480 for the TGS 41.400. The latter has a mileage of 8,000 km. The impressions of the dump truck are mixed. In terms of technical specifications, everything seems fine. A couple of times, I had to tighten the bolts on the frame because they kept getting loose. The hydraulics are currently working fine. The engine, for a 4-axle dump truck, is a bit weak. At high revs, there is an extraneous noise coming from the turbine. The cabin is good, but I would prefer the panel to be darker. On the light panel, all the wear and tear is visible, which cannot be wiped off with a damp cloth or napkin.

One thing I value in the MAN TGS is its ability to maintain consistent performance under varied loads. The gearbox transition feels seamless, especially during incline drives. Safety features are reliable; however, an improvement in lane-keeping alerts sensitivity would be welcome. Overall, it's reliable for different routes I undertake.
